Maintenance:
The cotton canvas must be dry before storing your SoulPad. Never keep your SoulPad stored away wet for longer than two days otherwise fungus can affect the canvas which will create little black irremovable dots. The canvas has been impregnated with anti-fungal treatments but if using your SoulPad often, this process should be repeated every two years or so.

If you must take your SoulPad down in the rain, be sure to put it up again as soon as possible (same or next day), even if it is still raining. Its better to be out of the bag and erect with air circulating around it, than in the bag and wet without any air circulation.

If your SoulPad has not been erected properly uneven forces can pull on the canvas. This could eventually lead to damage. It is in your interest to keep the canvas as clean as possible and remove stains when they first appear. Dust is better wiped away with a soft brush.

Lifespan:
The lifespan of your SoulPad is very dependent upon the camping conditions. Air pollution, ultraviolet radiation, natural dirt (bird droppings, sand, salt and water) and domestic dirt (cooking stains, wine and sun cream) all limit the lifespan of your cotton canvas SoulPad.

If you take care of your SoulPad, it will take care of you. Aaaaaah!

Zips:
Zips sometimes endure extreme tension caused by wind gusts, improper erections (ok, no more erection jokes) and adverse pressures caused by people or objects leaning against your SoulPad.

Tip: Close all zips before erecting your SoulPad.  Handle the zips with care. To protect the zips treat them with silicones once in a while.

Fungus and stains:
Due to insufficient ventilation fungus can affect the canvas. It is important to store your SoulPad dry so no fungus or other stains can appear. When you have to temporarily store your SoulPad wet, be sure to remove the mud and dirt from the bottom of your SoulPad and put it back out to dry pronto!

Tip: Store your SoulPad 100% dry.

When dealing with fungus use a soft brush or sponge and a lot of fresh water. Only use specialised tent cleaning products to remove difficult stains. Other chemical products can cause the cotton to leak. We suggest you have your SoulPad re-impregnated after washing it.

Leaking:
Cotton can, when new, let some air through and leak around the seams. After the canvas has been wet once this will no longer happen because the cotton will expand. Very light stains can appear on a wet SoulPad, this causes no problems.

Ultraviolet radiation can affect your SoulPad and its water resistant capabilities.

Tip: To preserve your SoulPad’s water resistancy and prolong its lifespan, the outside should be regularly treated with first a cleaning agent, then a waterproofing agent. It's better to use agents that are specifically designed for canvas. There are a lot on the market today. The spray on agents are good, but not as cost effective as those in the form of a solution to be diluted.
